Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for the end of terrorism, economic instability and internal divisions in Pakistan, stressing that the sacrificing of national interest for personal purposes is a betrayal of the country’s hard sacrifices.
On Friday, at the event “Rab-e-Zuljalal Ka Ehsan, Pakistan” in Islamabad, the Prime Minister urged people from all walks of life to manifest and play their role in lifting the economic, social and security challenges of the country, Express News reported.
“Today, the Pakistani army again states lives to eliminate terrorism, but our nation remains divided-prey to religious hatred, ethnic rifts and the prioritization of personal ambitions on national interest”, he said, adding, “such a thought is an act of disloyalty.”
By reflecting on the sacrifices made for the independence and stability of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz deplored that the country is still struggling against internal discord. “Instead of attending progress and prosperity, we see a fragmented nation where individual dreams have the price of national unity, honor and stability,” he said.
He underlined the need for a national collective decision to put aside EGOs and personal desires in favor of Pakistan’s greatest interest. “There can be no greater service in Pakistan than to subject our Egos and our ambitions to the will of the nation,” he added.
Stressing the status of Pakistan as a nuclear energy, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his gratitude to God for the country’s atomic capacity, reached in 1998.
“Whether it is an eternal enemy or a close adversary, Allah blessed this nation not only with a courageous army but also with nuclear force,” he said. “If someone dares to take a bad look at us, this nation will crush them.”
The Prime Minister has urged national reconciliation, unity and burial of political differences to help Pakistan recover its legitimate place in the world. He also pointed out that Pakistan was not founded to remain dependent on foreign loans.
“We must transform Pakistan into an economic fortress,” he said, warning that political independence has no sense without economic freedom.
Citing the Constitution, the PM noted that the State is required to allow citizens to lead their lives in accordance with Islamic principles, and no law can be made which contradicts the Koran and the Sunnah.
He stressed that Pakistan must follow the difficult path taken by all successful nations if it wants to stand up and become an economic power.
“If we move forward together, this country will not only go beyond its neighbors in a few years, but will also realize the vision of Quaid-Ezam,” he said.
The Prime Minister also expressed his solidarity with the people of Palestine and India illegally occupied Jammu-et-Cachemire, condemning the actions to occupy the forces.
“Israel has once again violated the ceasefire and has resumed its brutal genocide from the Palestinians. More than 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred-it is a pure transpression beyond human endurance,” he said.
PM Shehbaz has reaffirmed the unwavering support of Pakistan to the inhabitants of Palestine and Kashmir. “Until they reach freedom, the 240 million Pakistanis will continue to stand with them. We pray that Allah gives freedom to our oppressed brothers and sisters in the occupied regions. ”
