Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif renewed his call for national unity on Wednesday and invited all political parties, stakeholders and civil society to join Misaq-I-I-I-Pakistan, while the nation marked its 78th day of independence alongside the celebrations for the victory of Marka-E-Haq.
Addressing a large ceremony in the federal capital, the Prime Minister announced the creation of the army rocket force to strengthen the country’s combat capacities.
He also inaugurated the Bunyanum Marsous symbolic memorial.
The special event, held at Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad, brought together the best civilian and military leaders in the country, foreign dignitaries and thousands of citizens.
The High-Profile Gathering was Wait waited by President Ali Zardari, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munnir, First Lady Asefa Bhutto-Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, National Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Public Inter-Services Relations (ISPR) Director General LT Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Federal and State Ministers, members of the Parliament and Ambassadors of Friendly countries.
Addressing the public, Shehbaz said that the time had come to go beyond the political division, personal interests and “empty slogans” and to adopt a collective state of mind rather to guarantee the future of the country.
“On this big day, I am once again, with an open heart, invites all political parties, stakeholders and civil society to be part of Misaq-i-éhkam-i-Pakistan [Charter for Stability of Pakistan]”Said the Prime Minister.
Shehbaz explained that the proposed charter was not just a plan to relaunch the economy but the foundation of a large national program. “We have to show the world that the differences have their own place, but for the good of our beloved Pakistan, we are united,” he said.
He warned that Pakistan would not give room for any new “Fitna” [mischief] After decades of sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. “Protest is a right, but not vandalism; criticism is an right, but not an abuse; politics is a right, but not a rebellion against the state. We will not allow such elements to take root,” he said.
In his speech, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the founding fathers and the ideologists of the nation including leadership and struggle “have changed history and geography” and martyrs whose sacrifices have shaped the fate of the country.
He praised the armed forces for their “historic” performance during the four -day military confrontation with India in May, describing him as a time when soldiers from Pakistan “taught India a lesson in which he will remember eternity”.
Shehbaz congratulated the Marshal in the field asim as a “great son of the nation” who designed a strategy against “war hysteria” of India which won the recognition of friends and enemies.
He told how India attacked on the basis of lies, confident in his military force, but was quickly humiliated. “In four days, India’s pride was buried in the dust,” he said, adding that the forces of Pakistan fought “like a steel wall”.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the heads of service – the president of the chief staff, General Sahid Shamshad Mirza, the chief of air staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, and the admiral chief of Admiral Naval, Naveed Ashraf – for their management.
Defense boost
Marking the opportunity, the Prime Minister announced the creation of the army rocket force, equipped with advanced technologies and intended to serve as a “milestone” in strengthening the country’s combat capacities.
He stressed that Pakistan’s nuclear capacity was not for assault but to maintain strategic balance with India. “We are the only Islamic country in nuclear weapons, and the Ummah Muslim watches us with hope,” he said, paying tribute to nuclear scientists and the country’s armed forces.
Shehbaz praised the role of friendly nations to support Pakistan’s position during Marka-E-Haq, appoint China, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iran. “The nation thanks them for having been with us on the world scene,” he said.
He also thanked US President Donald Trump for helping to negotiate a ceasefire, expressing the hope that Trump would play a role in resolving the cashmere dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
The Prime Minister urged the public to remember those who are still under occupation, pointing to the fate of the people of Gaza and the cashmere. “Pakistan has always held its principle and with an unwavering commitment alongside the oppressed,” he said.
“The Palestinian question has become a test of the conscience of humanity. We will continue moral, diplomatic and political support until our cashmere and Palestine brothers receive their rights.”
Vision of the future
Shehbaz said that after taking office, his government had stabilized a fragile economy and avoided the defect. He pointed out that record heights on the stock market and a reduction in interest rates as signs of progressive recovery.
He credited these gains to correct political and military decisions, adding that international institutions had started to recognize the entry of Pakistan into “a new economic era”. He recognized the cooperation of the Marshal in the field asim Munir to formulate both the national action plan and the national financial plan.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Pakistan Judge in chief for the judicial decisions which led to the resumption of 100 billion rupees and praised the Pakistani abroad for sending a record of $ 38.3 billion in discounts this year, calling them “the great ambassadors of the country abroad”.
Addressing the young generation, Shehbaz reminded them that it was the youth who had been the soldiers’ feet of the independence movement, broadcasting the message of Quaid-i-Azam on every corner of the country. “Today too, the hopes of the nation rest with you,” he said.
He urged millions of boys and girls to get up with the resolution to build the country. He said dozens of education and employment projects had been launched, encouraging young people to work hard and to make Pakistan an autonomous state.
The day of independence and the celebrations of Marka-e-Haq took place with a complete ceremonial pump. The event was opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by parades of the three branches of the armed forces.
The contingents of Turkiye and Azerbaijan also joined the step of walking, and the training of the members of the parade stated the “freedom” and “Marka-e-Haq” and formed the national flag. The Pakistan Air Force planes made aerobatics maneuvers above the stadium, exciting spectators.
The evening has also seen the performances of the famous drummer Gumby and the famous singer Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, whose interpretations of patriotic songs have gathered the minds of the crowd. Children also interpreted paintings to classic national songs, adding color to the festivities.
A documentary produced jointly by the ISPR and the Ministry of Information was projected, exhibiting the Indian “plots”, highlighting the defensive measures and celebrating victory in the Marka-E-Haq.
While the clock struck at midnight, the celebrations culminated in a spectacular fireworks that illuminated the sky of Islamabad while the national anthem played, marking the official start of the 78th year of independence from Pakistan.
