ISLAMABAD:

As the government moves forward on the 27th Amendment, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited senators from the ruling coalition to a meeting to express their reservations regarding the proposed 27th constitutional amendment.

Invitations were sent to all government senators and allies for a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister. The meeting, scheduled for today (Sunday) at 6:30 p.m., will aim to allay concerns and ensure unity among coalition partners before the amendment is formally adopted.

Sources said the prime minister is expected to brief senators on the main provisions of the amendment and the government’s broader legislative strategy.
