PM urges the Taliban government to limit terrorist groups, stop using Afghan soil for attacks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the Afghan temporary government to immediately curb terrorist organizations and ensure that Afghan soil is not used for any form of terrorism, said new expressions on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz spoke to journalists in London, sharing that his recent visit to the Bélarus was fruitful.

The PM noted that Pakistan has been equipped with large mineral resources and that it visited a Bélarus factory which manufactures mining equipment. He also expressed the hope of increased cooperation in this sector.

He announced that an understanding had been reached in Bélarus to provide job possibilities to 150,000 young Pakistani skilled people, declaring that the selection process will only take place on merit.

In Afghanistan, the Prime Minister reiterated that it is a neighboring and fraternal country, and that the two nations must endeavor to live as good neighbors rather than fueling conflicts.

He said Pakistan has repeatedly transmitted to the Afghan temporary government that, in accordance with the Doha agreement, Afghan soil should not be used for terrorist activities. Unfortunately, he added, groups like TTP, ISKP and others continue to operate in Afghanistan and have conducted deadly attacks against innocent Pakistani.

He stressed that the sacrifices made by Pakistani citizens, the armed forces, the police and other law enforcement organizations in the fight against terrorism will not be in vain.

Offering sincere advice to Afghan leaders, he urged them to act quickly against these terrorist groups and to ensure that Afghanistan is not used as the basis for attacks on others.

Regarding the Convention abroad, the Prime Minister said that he had officially started and is a major and historic event. He welcomed Pakistanis abroad at home, praising their contributions to the country. He noted that they are working tirelessly to raise the world image of Pakistan and send billions of dollars in funds each year.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also shared that Pakistani funds abroad have increased considerably this year. He said that the Convention has an excellent opportunity to engage with them, listen to their legitimate requests and respond quickly as much as possible.
