Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the federal government on Monday to organize significant consultations with provincial governments for an effective and complete implementation of the digital transformation plan.
Chairing a weekly revision meeting on the economy without cash and digital in the federal capital, the Prime Minister said that the digitization of the economy will contribute to promoting transparency.
The fundamental objective of the digital transformation plan of the federal government is to provide facility and convenience to the public without any additional cost, he said, adding that the government encouraged digital payments and the digital transfer of funds through political measures.
All provincial governments, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu- & Cashmire, should fully cooperate with the federal government concerning the digitization of the economy and the economy without species, said the Prime Minister.
He added that with the cooperation of governments and provincial institutions, the digital transformation plan of the federal government should be more rationalized to ensure that the objectives are achieved within the fixed deadlines.
Significant consultations with all stakeholders should be made a permanent characteristic of this plan, added the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed that the National Digital Commission and Pakistan Digital Authority had been established and that the necessary rules were formulated.
The process of appointing the president and members of Pakistan Digital Authority is at its last stages.
In addition, it has been informed that the merchant integration framework for digital services was launched on July 25, 2025.
The meeting was followed by ministers for finance, economic affairs and among others.
