Islamabad:
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had urged the nation to forge unity while the country was faced with the threat of terrorism and extremism, stressing the need to support each other and contribute to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The first direction of the country congratulated the nation on the occasion of a good omen of Eidul Fitr observed across the country on Monday (today), and urged the masses to pursue the virtues of piety, patience and sacrifice learned during Ramazan in their daily lives.
On the occasion of a good omen of Eidul Fitr, I give my sincere greetings to the whole Pakistani nation, “said Shehbaz in his message from Eid.” This day teaches us joy, gratitude, fraternity and compassion, “he added.
“We must continue the lesson of piety, patience and sacrifice that we received during the sacred month of Ramazan in our lives and adhere to Islamic principles.” May Allah Al all-powerful be part of our lives, “he added.
The Prime Minister warned that the country was facing threats of internal and external investments, while it was putting war against terrorists. He expressed his solidarity with the families of the martyrs. He also prayed for the highest ranks of the Martyrs of the Jaffar Express tragedy.
“Today, Pakistan is faced with threats of internal and external investments. So we must avoid all kinds of extremism, hatred and sectarianism and unite for the integrity and stability of the country. We must not leave the conspiracy,” said the Prime Minister.
“Pakistan is going through a war against terrorists and our army officers and soldiers of the army sacrifice their lives to restore peace and order in this country. Today, we pray for the highest ranks of all these martyrs and express their solidarity with their families,” he added.
“Today, we also pray for the martyrs of the tragedy of Jaffar Express, that Allah increases their ranks. We share the sorrow of their survivors. We must also remember our oppressed brothers victims of oppression and barbarism,” he said.
Shehbaz reminded the nation that the strengthening of the economy, society and national unity was the common responsibility of all, adding that the government made intense efforts for the country’s economic renewal, the establishment of peace and social stability.
“We must unite and direct our country on the path of development and prosperity,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz. “I call on the nation to share the joys of Eid with their weak and needy brothers, parents and neighbors and play a role in the creation of a wellness society.”
On this occasion, Shehbaz reaffirmed the solidarity of Pakistan with the oppressed people of Palestine and the Indian occupied the Jammu and the cashmere (iiojk). He called on the international community to arrest human rights violations and relieve innocent Muslims.
In addition, President Zardari has extended a sincere congratulations to the whole nation and the Muslim world, urging the nation to remember those who faced economic difficulties as a real happiness in the sharing of joys with others.
“We must actively fulfill our obligations of Zakat, Charity and Fitrana so that no needy person is deprived of the happiness of Eid,” said the president in his message from Eid. “We must promote the fraternity between us so that our country appears as a strong and prosperous nation.”
The president said that Eid came after the blessings, the cult and the trip of piety during the sacred month of Ramazan, adding that Eidul Fitr was a gift from Allah Almighty, “granted us as a reward for fasting”.
During Ramazan, said the president, the faithful endeavored to reach proximity to Allah, to refine their characters and to excel in the acts of goodness. “This sacred month teaches us patience, endurance, worship and compassion for the poor,” said Zardari.
“Now it is our responsibility to follow these lessons in our daily life that was learned during Ramazan and to maintain the virtues of sincerity, honesty and love in our practical life,” added the president.
He observed that Eid Day also taught them the lesson of unity and solidarity among their ranks and stressed that the masses should strengthen these links, support each other and contribute to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
On this occasion, the president also prayed for the inhabitants of the IIOJK to obtain freedom and the opportunity to celebrate Eid in peace. The president prayed to Allah Almighty to accept his fast and worship and guide Pakistan on the path of peace and prosperity.
