PM wants computer training programs for young people

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Monday his intention to develop a sustainable and modern information and communication system in Pakistan, aimed at positioning the country as a regional center for the information technology sector (TI).

Chairing an examination meeting on the development of the IT training ecosystem in Pakistan, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of equipping young people with modern skills and market -oriented to support local transformation. He stressed that training programs must be designed to provide job possibilities for participants.

Shehbaz also underlined the need to provide competent IT professionals to local businesses, allowing them to comply with international standards and contribute to exchange gains. He ordered that clear reference conditions be written for consulting services linked to the training system.

He ordered the Federal Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Neotech to work with the IT ministry to give training in schools, colleges and universities. IT training should be provided in the summer camps during the current summer holidays, he said.

The meeting was informed that the Pakistani students trained recently rendered the proud country by winning the first three posts, not only in China, but also other competitions, which were challenged by 200,000 students from around the world.

The Prime Minister was informed that an objective had been set to give training to 50,000 trainers at Azad Cashmere, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad, keeping modern technology and contemporary requirements in view.

In addition, the Prime Minister met a delegation of the United Arab Emirates (Water), led by the Vice-Minister and the exchange of knowledge Abdulla Nasser Lotah, and expressed his desire to benefit from the experiences of the United Arab Emirates on his modern management system.

Shehbaz said Pakistan had taken measures such as digitization and paperless economy to improve its administrative structure. In addition, a faceless customs system has also been implemented, said a separate press release published by the PMO media wing.

On this occasion, Lootah said that the water was happy to exchange experiences and information with Pakistan. Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz and Minister Lotah witnessed the signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two countries.

Within the framework of this memorandum of understanding, the two countries will cooperate to improve government performance by exchanging knowledge and mutual experience, guides and development models in the fields of development planning, public sector reforms, human resources, town planning and science and technology.
