Islamabad:
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has launched an initiative aimed at modernizing the country’s early alert and weather forecast for the country.
The initiative entitled “Modernization of Hydrometric Services of Pakistan (MHSP)” was launched as part of the Integrated Project of Adaptation to Flood Resilience (IFRAP) funded by the World Bank, said a press release.
The project aims to strengthen climate resilience by improving PMD’s ability to generate, interpret and disseminate reliable hydrometeorological information.
