PMD provides widespread rains today

Islamabad:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) planned for the rain and Thonders in different parts of the country on Thursday on Thursday, with a warning of sudden floods in vulnerable districts.

The PMDs predict the rain in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), northeast of Balutchistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir, while 40% of rain and thunderstorms in Islamabad. He said that a warm and humid weather will prevail in other parts of the country, especially in the Sindh and southern Balutchistan.

The PMD warned that a strong precipitation could trigger sudden floods in local draws and streams in some parts of KP, notably Dir, Swat, Shangla, Manshra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Kohat, Karak, Hangu and Tank, as well as Dera Ghazi Khan, South Punjab, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir.

“Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures because wind storms, lightning and strong showers can harm vulnerable structures such as Kacha houses, electric posts, display panels, solar panels and parked vehicles,” he said.

According to the PMD, significant rain has been recorded in the past 24 hours. The maximum rain was recorded in Bannu which received 38 millimeters; 35 mm followed in layyah; 29 mm in Bahawalnagar; And up to 19 mm in Bahawalpur.

Despite widespread precipitation, high temperatures have also been recorded in several areas. Nokkundi was a warmest place in the country with a mercury at 45 ° C, followed by Dalbandin at 44c, Panjgur at 43c and Sibi at 42c.

The authorities have urged citizens, especially in areas subject to floods, to remain vigilant and to avoid unnecessary trips during heavy rains. Emergency services and local administrations have been made in a position to face any unfortunate situation.
