PMD warns against an intense heat wave

Friday, the sun was mercilessly moved in most regions of the country, the Pakistan meteorological department (PMD) sounded the alarm, emitting an alert of the heat wave with temperatures that should rise from April 26 to 30.

The suffocating spell, driven by a high pressure system that discolors the upper atmosphere, will probably increase heat on a national scale.

The meteorological system should develop on April 26 and seize most of the country’s parts by April 27, causing a peak in daytime temperatures.

Daily temperatures should remain 5 to 7 ° C above normal in the southern regions, including Sindh, southern Punjab and Balutchistan, from April 26 to May 1.

Meanwhile, areas of the upper half of the center-country and the upper punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Cashmire and Gilgit-Baltistan should experience temperatures 4-6 C above normal from April 27 to 30.

A relief is expected from May 1, because a new meteorological system can bring rain, thunderstorms and hailstorms in certain parts of cashmere, Islamabad, the region of Porthohar, the northeast of Punjab, the Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Gilgit-Baltistan from April 30.

It is advisable to the general public, in particular children, women and the elderly, to avoid direct sunlight during the day and to remain well hydrated to prevent heat -related diseases.

Farmers should plan their wheat harvest activities accordingly and take measures to protect their cattle. The rise in temperatures in northern areas could also speed up the snow iron rate, especially between April 27 and May 1.

Citizens are invited to use water wisely in all sectors. In addition, strong winds, dust storms and lightning can present risks to structures such as electric posts, trees, vehicles and solar panels on April 30 and May 1.

The authorities were advised to remain vigilant and take all the necessary precautions to minimize the risks associated with the heat wave.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning on Friday, providing for unstable weather conditions in several regions of Pakistan from May 1 to 7.

According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) of the NDMA, strong precipitation, wind storms, thunderstorms, lightning and isolated hailstorms were expected at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Punjab Superior and northern Balochistan and Sindh.

The NDMA had attributed the time unfavorable to the influx of the humidity of the eastern regions and the sea of ​​Oman, coupled with the increase in temperatures and humidity. The authority had warned that the low zones in the affected regions could face an investigation, while the hilly areas were at risk of landslides.

The authorities had advised the relevant services and the public to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions. The NDMA had also urged citizens to stay up to date via the alert application in the event of a Pak NDMA disaster for alerts and weather opinions in real time, especially before traveling.

The disaster management organization had assured that he was closely monitoring the situation through Neoc in coordination with the provincial authorities and the district to provide rapid response and public security.
