The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has published a meteorological alert providing for wind storms and rain thunderstorms through the upper and central parts of the country of the night from May 27 to May 31.
The ministry said that wet currents are entering the upper and central regions, and a west wave should move to northern areas on May 28, triggering active weather conditions.
Areas Likely to be Affected Included Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murrier, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Siaalkot, Narowal, Okara, Lahorebad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Manshra, Battagram, Shangla, Swabi, Nowshera, Mobmand Karak and Waziristan.
Strong isolated precipitation, hailstorms and lightning are also planned.
Light to moderate rains and wind storms are also expected in parts of Balutchistan and southern Punjab, notably Multan, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Zhob between May 27 and May 30, with breaks between the two.
The PMD warned that strong winds, dust thunderstorms and hail could damage vulnerable structures such as electric lines, trees, solar panels and vehicles, especially in areas exposed such as Islamabad and adjacent regions.
Farmers have been advised to plan agricultural activities accordingly, while the general public, travelers and tourists are invited to remain cautious during active weather fate.
The PMD also ordered the relevant authorities to remain on alert and take preventive measures to avoid disturbances or dangers.
