LAHORE:
The Pakistan Meteorological Department warned on Sunday that strong winds, thunder, lightning and heavy rain were likely in various parts of the country during the evening and night of March 29, with some areas at risk of flash flooding.
According to the department, northern Balochistan districts including Zhob, Musakhel, Sibi, Kohlu, Barkhan, Naseerabad and Loralai are facing the risk of flash floods due to heavy rains. Similarly, local rivers in upper and central Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir are also likely to overflow from Sunday evening to Monday.
The report said most parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Rains are expected in scattered places of KP, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, northeast Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while isolated showers may occur in southern Punjab and Sindh. Hail and strong winds in some areas can also damage fragile infrastructure.
In Punjab, particularly in Lahore, intermittent rains during the last 24 hours have made the weather pleasant. The city is expected to experience occasional rains today, and this spell of rain is expected to continue until March 30.
The meteorological department added that temperatures in Lahore fell to moderate levels and humidity increased, making the weather relatively pleasant for the next few days.

During the last 24 hours, parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Balochistan experienced rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. The rest of the country remained dry, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
The Meteorological Department has advised areas experiencing thunderstorms and heavy rains to remain cautious, especially in northern areas and hilly areas prone to flash floods.
