PMD warns the fishermen in the middle of the cyclone

The tropical cyclone alert center of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) advised fishermen to avoid venturing into deep waters today (Monday) for the Shakti cyclone,

The center published two successive alerts on Sunday. According to the 10th alert published late Sunday evening, the severe cyclone has moved away from Karachi, but its intensity in the Northwest Arabian Sea remains unchanged.

The Cyclone center is now located about 800 km southwest of Karachi.

Over the past 12 hours, its movement has been in a west / southwest direction and it should continue to move to the southwest until October 6 (today).

Over the next 12 hours, it is likely to turn east towards the Arabian Sea from the Center-West and North West, where it will gradually weaken in a stage and will return to a cyclonic storm. According to the alert, the winds in burst up to 55 km per hour near the Sindh coast can cause restless sea conditions, advising fishermen to avoid going to deep waters.

Between October 5 and October 7, wind speeds can exceed 135 km per hour, potentially generating very high sea waves, added the alert. After moving east in the Oman Sea, the system should weaken a category.

The city experienced a clear sky and an intense sun on Sunday. Due to high humidity levels, residents felt significant heat in the afternoon.

According to the PMD, the maximum temperature recorded in Karachi was 32.8 ° C, while the humidity remained 69%. The early alert center provides that Monday and Tuesday, the city weather will remain wet with mainly sunny conditions.

Meanwhile, the rain accompanied by strong winds, storms and isolated hailstorms is expected in various parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab over the next 24 hours. In a few places, high precipitation and hailstorms are also likely. Time in other parts of the country should remain hot and dry.
