Islamabad:
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) downloaded the new program for the medical and dental college admission test (MDCAT) 2025 on its official website Thursday, which would serve as a main framework for the coming exam.
The new program includes five key subjects – biology, chemistry, physics, English and logical reasoning – emphasizing conceptual understanding and critical thinking. The PMDC encouraged budding students to start their preparations following the newly published study program.
The final date of MDCAT exams should be announced in a few days after consultations with admission universities. The exams should take place on the last Sunday in September or the first Sunday in October 2025.
The examination will include a total of 180 multiple choice questions (MCQ) – classified as 15% easy, 70% moderate and 15% difficult – which would be answered in three hours, said a press release, while defining the structure, weight and difficulty levels for the exam. “No negative marking will be applied.”
According to the press release, candidates must reach a minimum of 55% of grades to qualify for admission to medical colleges and 50% of grades for admission to dental colleges.
