Islamabad:
On Sunday, the Muslim League of Pakistan in power (PML-N) increased its strength on Sunday in the National Assembly with the addition of two seats reserved for women of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to a notification published by the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP).
The ECP informed Samar Haroon Bilour, Saeeda Jamshed Khan as members of the National Assembly. The two names were sent to ECP last month. This addition makes party strength in power in house 336 to 124.
The names of Bilour and Khan appeared to number 1 and 2 on its list of priorities for the seats reserved for women subject to the commissioner in the provincial elections, who is responsible for the return for having filled the two seats.
The allocation of the seats came while Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf was not entitled to seats reserved for women and non-Muslims. Consequently, the ECP has allocated five seats reserved out of 10, from KP to the PML-N, three in Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam and two to the partisans of the partimentary of Pakistan.
