Police convoy hit by IED explosion in Hangu

A police convoy was targeted by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Hangu’s Doaba area on Sunday, leaving three police officers, including Station House Officer (SHO) Imranuddin, injured, police officials confirmed.

According to police sources, the convoy was returning from a peace committee meeting when it was attacked. Senior officials, including Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Abdul Samad, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tall Mujahid and SHO Imranuddin, were traveling in the convoy at that time.

Following the explosion, a shootout broke out between the police and the attackers. SHO Imranuddin and two other policemen were injured in the incident. The firefight was still ongoing at the time of reporting.

SP Abdul Samad said the attack was carried out using an IED planted along the convoy route. Further details are awaited as the situation evolves.
