Three people, including a police officer, were slaughtered and another seriously injured when unidentified armed men opened fire during Tarawih prayers in Narowal, police announced on Monday.
The attack took place within a private residence where the faithful had gathered for prayers. The victims were identified as the Imran Butt carrier, Shahid Butt and the police officer of the special branch Zafar Iqbal. A fourth person, Shehbaz, suffered serious injuries.
According to the first reports, the shooting has been linked to a long -standing rivalry on a private bus stand. The attackers fled the premises before the arrival of the police.
District police officer (DPO) Malik Naveed and a heavy police quota reached the site, moving the bodies to the hospital for a post -dead exam while the injured received medical care.
Inspector General of Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, took note of the incident, requesting a report from the regional police chief and ordering the immediate arrest of the officials.
The authorities have promised to use all the resources to find the authors and ensure justice.
Last week, a flight occurred in a mosque in the Cantt area of Rawalpindi, where a thief stole a laptop and a bag containing precious items while the owner was engaged in prayer. Video surface images have surfaced, capturing the suspect in action during the incident.
The images revealed a well -dressed man with a black pair of sunglasses, shirt and pants. It was seen picked up a shoulder bag containing a laptop and other personal effects of the area designated inside the mosque.
After taking the bag, the thief changed his shoes for the shoes of another worshiper before leaving the mosque.
The video surveillance shows the thief initially observing the shoe support, then taking with casualness the bag on site, before heading towards the exit.
He wore a black pair of sunglasses and seemed to blend with other worshipers.
