While the nation marks Eidul FITR on Monday (today), the political leaders of the government and the opposition went to their original regions to be with their friends and their families at this joyful opportunity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will celebrate Eid in Lahore with his children and other close relatives – Brother Nawaz Sharif and Niece, the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz in Lahore.
President Asif Zardari reached Nawabshah on Sunday to celebrate Eid in his original district, his son, the president of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will offer an AID prayer to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana.
Senate President Yousaf Raza Gillani will be in Multan on Eid day, the president of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will be in Lahore, and the vice-president Ghumlam Mustafa Shah will offer Eid prayer in Nawabshah.
Sindh-chief Minister Murad Ali Shah will celebrate Eidan in Sehwan, while Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, will mark the opportunity at Dera Ismail Khan. The chief minister of Balutchistan, Sarfaraz Bugti, will observe the prayers of Eid in Quetta.
Federal ministers will also be distributed across the country, Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi in Lahore, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in Siackot and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Lahore. The president of the Punjab assembly, Malik Mohammad Ahmed Khan, will celebrate Eid in his ancestral village, Khai Hathar, in the Kasur district.
The adviser of the Prime Minister on political affairs Rana Sanaullah will spend Eid Day in Faisalabad, where the Minister of State in the Interior Talal Chaudhry will offer prayers to Eid. (With News Desk entry)
