According to the White Sox, the Pope attended the game with the late Ed Schmit, a family friend and holder of season tickets. In May, the team unveiled a graphic installed near the headquarters paying tribute to Pope Leo and at this time. The illustration of the pillar presents a fierce pope Leo XIV as well as an image of the television broadcast of the future pope seated with Good Schmit and his grandson, Eddie.
