The former White Sox launcher from Chicago, Erick Fedde, had a hilarious reaction when he found the favorite baseball team of the new Pope Robert Prevost.
Fedde, 32, is now a member of the Cardinals of St. Louis and was questioned about the White Sox Fandom of Pope Leo XIV on Friday.
“Well, he may have been praying several times to look at us,” said Fedde via the New York Post.

Fedde was part of the White Sox team who made a 41-121 putrid last season, establishing the record for most defeats by a team in modern MLB history.
A video surfaced online online from Prevost Friday in the crowd with White Sox equipment during the 2005 World Series when the White Sox played the Houston Astros. The White Sox have swept the astros to win this world series but have not won as a eliminatory series since then.

The very first American pope would have been a fan of Chicago Cubs, but his brother John confirmed that Prévost is indeed a White Sox fan.
Fedde was one of the only light points in the terrible White Sox team from last season. He went 7-4 in 21 departures with an MPM of 3.11 and was exchanged to the cardinals on the deadline for trade.

This season has not been much better for the White Sox, who are 11-28 years old and already 15 games behind the first place of Detroit Tigers in Al Central.
With the cardinals this season, Fedde has a 3-3 sheet with a 3.86 MPM. In his last match against the Washington Nationals, he launched a complete laundering.
