Power rate likely to reduce from RS1.69 per unit

Electricity consumers across the country are likely to obtain RS1,69 per rescue unit in their September invoices under the monthly fuel costs (FCA), Express News reported.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), a member of the Sindh, Rafiq Sheikh, examined the request of the Central Power Achating Agency (CPPA-G), which, if it was approved, will grant 23 billion rupees to consumers on Wednesday.

The reduction, however, will only apply and exclude consumers of life, prepaid and prepaid consumers and electric vehicle charging stations.

During the session, the NEPRA expressed a strong dissatisfaction with the increase in electrocution incidents during the heavy rains of July. The authority noted that 11 people lost their lives in a single month due to accidents, including six deaths in the Islamabad Electric Company (IESCO) region.

Sheikh has warned of imposing maximum sanctions on distribution companies. However, he deplored that public services often get court suspension orders against such fines.

The NEPRA confirmed that the Ministry of Energy had transmitted the instructions of the Economic Coordination Committee to invoice the same FCA for electric consumers K so that a uniform tariff policy can be maintained.

The regulator said he heard all stakeholders and would make a detailed decision after a more in -depth examination of the data submitted.
