- Viltrox becomes the tenth member of the L-MOUNT Alliance
- Some of its current objectives and future could obtain treatment in L-MOUNT
- Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, Blackmagic Design and Dji all do cameras in L-Mount
In my book, Viltrox is the game of lenses manufacturing – because it is that the latest professional and laboratory objectives offer incredible construction and optical quality, to a SNIP compared to the owner equivalents.
Take its 135 mm F1.8 laboratory, a superb portrait goal, as I discovered when I associated it with a complete Nikon camera. This objective is the real deal, for only a third of the Nikon’s Plena Prize.
Until now, Viltrox has focused his attention on the lenses for the Sony electronic monte cameras, followed by Fujifilm X-Mount and Nikon Z-Munt. But today marks an exciting chapter for the Chinese objective making an upstart: he joined the L-Mount Alliance.
Installed by Leica, the L-MOUNT is used by a number of brands, notably Panasonic, Sigma, Blackmagic Design, DJI and, of course, Leica itself.
Viltrox becomes the tenth member of the L-Mount Alliance, and the promise of his high-quality perspective made in the L-Mount versions is also excellent news for anyone who turns with an L camera, such as the Pansonic Lumix S1r II or the Blackmagic Pyxis 6K.
A win-win situation
Viltrox follows Sirui as another manufacturer of low-cost objectives in the L-Mount Alliance, but the latter news is undoubtedly even more exciting given the ascending curve of Viltrox and the growing reputation.
We presented its new Sony 35 mm F1.2 laboratory for Sony cameras as “an astonishing objective with an irresistible price”, awarding five in five stars in our in -depth examination. Likewise, its 16 mm F1.8 AF is a “go-to Ultra-large premium for landscape and astrophotography “.
It was only this week that Viltrox also announced a new 56 mm F1.2 goal for APS-C sensor cameras, available for Sony E and Fujifilm X-Mount, which looks like a superb portrait optics.
The L-Munt portfolio includes 20 cameras and more than 120 objectives, and it should develop with the addition of Viltrox. As a Nikon Z-Ment user, I am already on my third Viltrox Z-Munt goal, and I could not be happier.
We do not yet know what objectives will receive the treatment in L, but if you photograph with an L camera, believe me, you should look at this space to see which Viltrox objectives are released – you will not be disappointed.
