Pre-mousson rains expected from June 20

Islamabad:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has planned pre-harm rains in various regions of the country from June 20 to 23, with occasional gaps, bringing relief from the current heat wave.

The expected wet fate will bring storms of dust, rains and thunderstorms, while isolated areas can also undergo strong precipitation and hailstorms.

According to the Met Office, the humid currents of the Bengal Bay and the Oman Sea between the upper and central parts of the country.

A West wave was also likely to approach the higher regions on June 20, which will contribute to the development of unstable weather conditions during this period.

There is a risk of urban floods in the low areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Islamabad for strong showers. Farmers are advised to manage their harvesting activities in accordance with forecasts.

The general public, travelers and tourists are invited to take precautionary measures and to avoid unnecessary trips in vulnerable areas or subject to floods.

The PMD advised all the authorities concerned to remain on alert and take the necessary measures to prevent any unfortunate situation.
