President Asif Ali Zardari was tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement published on Wednesday by the president.
The press release confirmed that President Zardari’s personal doctor, Dr. Asim Hussain, made a series of tests, who confirmed the diagnosis. Dr. Hussain added that President Zardari was advisable to stay in isolation.
“The medical team guarantees 24 hours a day to effectively manage their condition,” said Zardari’s doctor. Zardari had been moved from Nawabshah to a private Karachi hospital after reporting health problems.
In addition, President Asif Ali Zardari will not participate in the rally scheduled for April 4, according to sources. The sources also revealed that the president was advisable to rest continuously for health reasons
In a separate statement today, the main minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Memon, rejected reports claiming that the president was transported by plane to Dubai for treatment. Memon said that the president’s health improved and that he would soon be completely recovering.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke to Zardari by phone, inquiring about his health and extension of prayers for his recovery. Sindh governor Kamran Tessori also contacted Dr. Hussain, expressing his concerns and offering the best health wishes of the president.
