- The doctor says that the president will be released from the hospital in one day.
President Asif Ali Zardari recovers well and will be out of the hospital in a day or two, said his doctor Dr. Asim Hussain on Saturday.
“The president is fine now,” said Dr. Asim, addressing the media in Karachi. He added that “speculation should stop now”.
The president had been placed in isolation after being tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago.
In the previous update, the doctor said that the president received medical care of infectious disease specialists in a private hospital.
In today’s supplier, he explained that the hospital had organized medicines for the head of state who were not available in Pakistan. Asim added that the coronavirus is still present in the country and that its cases are reported.
He added that antiviral drugs have been developed for COVVI-19 patients who are very effective.
Asim also said that the president was transferred to Karachi on Monday evening and that his treatment had started.
He turned out to be a COVVI-19 variant after his medical tests confirmed the diagnosis, said Asim, adding that the variant was not deadly.
The doctor also expressed his pain about “baseless reports” disseminated by the Indian media and certain social media accounts.
Asim criticized political opponents for twisting the facts and said that even sick people were not spared such disinformation.
Earlier, the main minister of Sindh, Sharjeel, Memon, refuted Zardari’s health reports and said his health was improving.
In a statement, Memon said that the reports suggesting that President Zardari was transferred to Dubai for medical treatment was not true and that the latter would soon be completely recovered.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inquired about the health of President Zardari via a telephone call.
The Prime Minister prayed for the early recovery of the president, adding that the prayers of the whole nation were with the president.
