Islamabad:

President Asif Ali Zardari officially signed the 2026 financing bill following his approval by the National Assembly and the Senate. The signature took place after the adoption of the bill through the necessary legislative processes.

In accordance with the Constitution, the bill, which includes various budgetary measures for the next financial year, was presented to President Zardari after being debated and adopted in the two chambers of Parliament.

Following the president’s signature, the official notification of Gazette was issued, which makes the bills in force immediately.

On June 10, the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, unveiled a federal budget of 17.6 Billions of rupees for the 2025-26 fiscal year, which put stress on the accent put by the government on economic stability and growth.

In his budgetary discourse in the National Assembly marred by the opposition pandemonium, Aurangzeb described the main economic achievements, saying that funding has reached $ 31.2 billion, projections reaching 37 to 38 billion dollars by the end of the current year.

Last week, the National Assembly approved the budget with certain amendments, rejecting opposition calls to public consultation and paving the way for a series of tax reforms, income measures and public spending plans for the coming year.

The session, chaired by the speaker Ayaz Sadiq, started with Aurangzeb by moving the 2025 financial bill, which was taken up for a clause exam.

The members of the opposition proposed an amendment to delay the approval of the bill and request a public consultation, but this amendment was largely rejected.
