President Zardari to visit UAE from January 26-29

The visit follows the UAE President’s recent trip to Pakistan and reflects the close ties between the two countries

ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari will undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, accompanied by a high-level delegation, the Pakistani presidency announced on Monday.

During his visit, the President is expected to hold meetings with UAE leaders to review bilateral relations, with a focus on trade and economic cooperation, defense and security, as well as people-to-people relations.

The discussions will also focus on regional and international issues of mutual interest, the statement said.

The visit follows the UAE President’s recent trip to Pakistan and reflects the close ties between the two countries, he added, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation in multiple sectors.

On December 27, 2025, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, paid an official visit to Pakistan, marking his first official visit as President.

During his visit, he held discussions with Pakistani leaders on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment and security.

The visit, undertaken at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, comes at a time when Pakistan’s relations with the Gulf states are seeing renewed momentum, driven by growing cooperation in the areas of defence, investment, energy and regional diplomacy.
