Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex recently faced criticism after casually posting a video from her trip to Paris showing her kicking up her heels as she drove through the tunnel where Princess Diana was killed in a car crash.
Royal experts called the Instagram video “beyond stupid”.
Now, insiders have told RadarOnline that the insensitive video has hit Prince Harry and Prince William hard.
The source said: “It is said around the palace that the prince was disgusted by the message. Insiders even say they had a bitter argument and he stormed off.”
“He loved his mother – and everyone knows how difficult her death was for him,” they added.
Meanwhile, Prince William, Prince of Wales, reportedly turned “white with anger”.
“William saw the clip and went white with anger,” an insider told Rob Shuter, who revealed it on Substack.
They went on to share, “Oh man, it wasn’t just in poor taste, it was a personal desecration. This tunnel is sacred ground. For Meghan to treat it as a selfie moment was the ultimate insult.”
He added: “He said it was grotesque. He couldn’t believe she would film herself near the very place that destroyed his family.”
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s husband, was just 12 years old when Princess Diana died in 1997. However, Prince William, Prince of Wales, was 15 years old at the time.
