Prince Harry hits back at Sentebale defamation allegations in new statement

Prince Harry, who founded Sentebale alongside Prince Seeiso in 2006 to help people affected by HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana, is now facing another setback after making the “devastating” decision to leave in March 2005.

The association is now suing the Duke of Sussex and Mark Dyer, a former Sentebale administrator, for “starting a wave of cyberbullying” after his departure.

In response to the lawsuit, Prince Harry’s spokesperson released a scathing statement regarding the allegations of defamation of his beloved former charity.

“As a co-founder and founding director of Sentebale, they categorically reject these offensive and damaging claims,” the statement said.

“It is extraordinary that charitable funds are now being used to pursue legal action against the very people who built and supported the organization for nearly two decades, rather than being directed to the communities for which the charity was created. »

However, the board later issued a further statement emphasizing that “no charitable funds were used” for his lawsuit, which is being pursued in the Court of England and Wales.

The charity is asking the court for “intervention, protection and restitution following a coordinated negative media campaign carried out since March 25, 2025 which has caused operational disruption and reputational damage to the charity, its management and its strategic partners”.
