Prince Harry made accusation: ‘Don’t blame us!’

Prince Harry’s ‘very bad start’ in the spotlight

Prince Harry’s behavior after his marriage to Meghan Markle prompted one expert to offer the following message: ‘I just wish he wouldn’t blame everyone for this.’ It wasn’t the press, it wasn’t the public, they all wanted it to succeed.”

The expert in question is royal expert and author, Phil Dampier, and he’s offered a no-holds-barred view of the royal couple, from the days of their very first appearance at the Invictus Games, in Toronto after their wedding.

He spoke with Royal editor Matt Wilkinson about it all on The royal exclusivity of the sun show, and the conversation saw the expert detail the media paranoia that erupted right after their wedding.

“We were completely shocked by that. I just couldn’t believe it when he did that,” the expert said of Prince Harry’s statement regarding media coverage of his wife.

“Looking back, I think there were one or two comments in a few columns that made some pretty nasty remarks about his background. But generally speaking,” Mr. Dampier admitted, “99 percent of the media coverage was overwhelmingly positive and welcoming.”

Later in the interview, the expert also called it a “really bad start” where “Harry’s paranoia” was on full display, even though early in his marriage “she seemed like a breath of fresh air.”

That’s why “I couldn’t believe it when he started complaining to the press that she was being mistreated because, generally speaking, I don’t think she was,” he said.

Before concluding, he also noted: “We know from Spare and everything that happened afterwards that he obviously pent up a lot of angst and bitterness. But William had to go through the same thing and he managed to deal with it.”

“It obviously affected him a lot, but I just wish he wouldn’t blame everyone for it. It wasn’t the press, it wasn’t the public, they all wanted it to succeed.”
