Prince Harry is reportedly planning a huge surprise for his cancer-stricken father King Charles amid the ongoing drama over Andrew.
The Duke of Sussex is reportedly planning a low-key return to the UK this Christmas as he is determined to reconnect his children with his side of the family.
An insider said Online speed cameras that Harry, who recently lost his case for full police protection in the United Kingdom, wants to use this visit to strengthen Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s relationship with Charles.
Harry met Charles for tea earlier this year in their first face-to-face in almost two years, a meeting that insiders described as “cold”.
However, the Duke sees bringing Archie and Lilibet to the UK as an important step towards rebuilding trust.
“There will be private lobbying going on behind the scenes. He is not giving up. He wants to bring his family back more regularly,” said a friend of Harry’s.
“Harry misses sports and going to the pub with his friends,” said a source close to Harry’s desire to return to royal life.
“Meghan has taken all that away from him, but he sees it as part of himself and his culture and he will want to have a nice drink this Christmas with friends he hasn’t seen in years.”
They added that Harry knows he “has a long road ahead of rebuilding trust with his father after publishing his memoirs and disparaging the royal family in his Netflix documentary and interview with Oprah Winfrey.”
“But he thinks taking his children to see Charles at Christmas will be a great way to start making amends, because the king has not had a relationship with these grandchildren.
“He is ensuring that his children do not lose their connection to the UK – and he will not let anyone stand in the way of that, not even his wife, whatever the consequences it will have on their marriage.”
