Prince Harry must have brought tears to readers’ eyes with his emotional letter before the royal family reunited for two special events.
On December 1, British charity WellChild announced on its official Instagram page that its latest impact report had been published, along with a heartfelt message from its patron, the Duke of Sussex.
In a lengthy statement, Harry wrote: “Every year, as boss of WellChild, I am humbled by the extraordinary spirit of the WellChild community.
“While the challenges faced by families caring for children with complex medical needs have not diminished, the strength and resilience of these families, and the charity that supports them, remains unwavering.
Harry praised the efforts of the WillChild team who continue to provide support by “advocating, innovating and ensuring” that seriously ill children can be cared for safely, either at home or in their community, despite immense pressure.
The father of two recalled his special meeting with the remarkable winners of the WellChild Awards in 2024, saying it’s always great to hear the stories of “these children, their families and the professionals…”
Additionally, Prince Harry praised the charity’s “peer-to-peer support network” as it offers immense support to those affected and their families, who often feel alone.
At the end of his letter, Harry expressed his gratitude to “the brilliant staff, the board, the WellChild nurses, the supporters, the volunteers, the families” for sincerely doing their job.
“Your role in our history changes lives every day, and I am honored to stand with you in this mission,” he concluded.
It is pertinent to note that Prince Harry sent a heartwarming message to the United Kingdom days before the royal family’s grand gatherings, Princess Kate’s Christmas carol service and the traditional royal walk at Sandringham.
Notably, like every year, Harry fans await a reunion between the royal family and the Sussexes during the holiday period.
