Prince William and Princess Kate are in for a major change as they approach a key event in the new year.
Second in line to the throne and Welsh firstborn, Prince George, will be 13 in 2026 with a new chapter in his life.
The future monarch, who currently attends Lambrook School, is expected to enroll at Eton or Marlborough College for further education.
Discussing the Prince and Princess of Wales’ current feelings, royal expert Jennie Bond said the only big problem would be allowing George to use a mobile phone.
She wondered: “I imagine a big question for George will be: is this the year he will finally be allowed to have a smartphone? We know there is tension between George and his parents on this thorny issue.”
Previously, William, in a conversation with Brazilian television, revealed that none of his children and Catherine had access to smartphones. But, he shared, “When George goes to high school, maybe he’ll have one with limited access.”
Jennie told the Mirror“My bet is that he won’t be allowed a smartphone for a few years yet, but maybe now is the time for him to be allowed a brick phone – so he can at least stay in touch with family and friends, like so many young people his age.”
Notably, the royal commentator also predicted that the future king and queen will continue to shield their son George for as long as they can from the public eye in order to allow him to understand “his new situation, get comfortable and start studying for important exams and enjoying his school life.”
