The video shared by Kensington Palace has shown that Gary received the honor of William for his decades of memorable performances through cinema and television.
The special message shared on behalf of William read: “Thank you, Sir Gary Oldman, for decades of unforgettable performance – whether as hero or mean, or something between the two!”
By referring to the horses of the Oscars winner, the legend read further: “Not bad for a slow horse …”
“Congratulations to all those who have received honors today,” concluded legend.
It should be mentioned that Sir Gary Oldman himself revealed the cheeky remark of Prince William while granting his chivalry.
As quoted by Metro, Gary revealed that even if William admitted to being a fan of his current series, he added that each time he sees the actor in the series, he just wants to “give a good wash”.
To what, Gary jokingly responded: “Well, I think I rubbed OK today.”
