Britain’s future monarch Prince William has hatched a surprise plan to protect his reign and strengthen the monarchy amid family unrest and a shortage of royals.
King Charles’s hierarchy has decided to choose the “royal dark horse” for a senior role amid royal shortages, according to a new report.
Kate Middleton’s husband, the Prince of Wales, is reportedly expecting the next generation of royals to step up as he prepares to ascend the throne.
The 43-year-old is considering a “lite monarchy” when he becomes king, but he apparently finds himself “short of royals” to manage the company’s affairs and represent the monarchy.
There was speculation that when the Prince of Wales ascended the throne, he would usher in a new chapter for the royal family, featuring a “lite monarchy”.
However, the list of working royals has already been significantly reduced, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relinquishing their lifetime royal duties in the United States in 2020, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor banned from public life.
The father of three could consider deploying Lady Louise Windsor – the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh – to a more senior role, according to the Daily MailIt’s Christopher Wilson.
“All that’s left is Lady Louise Windsor, 22, who charms everyone who meets her and could be a decorative and useful asset to the royal team. But her mother Sophie, who is very protective of her daughter, is just as likely to want her to stay out of the spotlight,” Wilson said.
The expert also alluded to Lady Louise’s younger brother James, 18, noting: “Little is known about his character and personality or whether he would wish to serve as a senior royal – even if William wanted to. Currently he is a pupil at Radley, Berkshire’s public school.”
Willam could expect the loyalist family member to face difficulties as the public demands the presence of a royal. As members of the royal family are always required to represent events across the country.
Lady Louise Windsor – who is currently studying at the University of St Andrew in Scotland, where William and Kate met – has made some special appearances at royal events, such as Royal Ascot and Trooping the Color.
However, Duchess Sophie is moving to keep her two children out of the royal spotlight and provide them with a normal education, despite their royal lineages.
