After a busy Commonwealth Day schedule, Princess Anne carried out another important royal function at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
Acting on behalf of King Charles, the Princess Royal hosted an investiture ceremony recognizing individuals for their contributions to public life, sport, education and business.
The ceremony marked Anne’s ninth inauguration in 2026, highlighting how active her schedule has been this year.
In the Royal Household, this was the 11th investiture held so far in 2026, with the King and Prince of Wales having hosted one each.
Among those honored was Hazel Irvine, respected sports presenter and honorary chair of Enable Scotland, who was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her work in sport and charity.
Umeshkumar Desai, from Leicester, was also made an MBE for his contribution to higher education.
Military service was recognized as Lieutenant Colonel Paula Nicholas, of the Adjutant General’s Corps, was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Several high-ranking individuals have been awarded the titles of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
Among them was Greater Manchester Transport Commissioner Vernon Everitt, who was honored for his contribution to the transport sector.
Jonathan Ashworth, former MP for Leicester South, recognized for his parliamentary work.
Omar Ali, global financial services leader at Ernst & Young, recognized for his role in the financial sector.
Earlier on Monday, Save the Children UK patron Anne visited London’s Grosvenor House Hotel alongside her husband Sir Tim Laurence for the International Financing Review’s annual awards dinner.
