Princess Anne to celebrate 25 years after ‘exceptional’ honor

Just days after holding a race at Cheltenham named in her honour, Princess Anne is heading to Gloucestershire.

On Tuesday, King Charles’s indefatigable sister will be in Cirencester to celebrate 25 years of the Churn Project, a community lifeline which has quietly supported families in crisis.

She will then travel to the Whitminster Playing Field and Pavilion, where the Gloucestershire Playing Fields Association is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Anne will finish her Gloucestershire tour at the Grace Network, in the former department store in Cirencester, which links churches and charities to tackle food poverty, debt and hardship in the area.

The visit follows a major honor from Cheltenham Racecourse, who renamed the Hunters’ Chase at the legendary Cheltenham Festival in his honour.

The all-new Princess Royal Challenge Cup Open Hunters’ Steeplechase will come into action on March 13, 2026, straight after the iconic Cheltenham Gold Cup on Gold Cup Day.

Racing bosses hailed her as an “outstanding all-round rider”.
