Princess Beatrice spoke of the need to strengthen trust and bring people online at a conference at London Tech Week.
Prince Andrew’s daughter and Sarah Ferguson joined the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, to chat in Olympia, where they discussed how online communities can help shape better rules and content.
During their speech, Béatrice stressed how important it is to create spaces where people can speak and make decisions together.
She also shared her point of view that confidence is developing when people feel included. “Really what we need is more online community,” said the princess.
“The spaces for which people meet and discuss and come to content decisions and the platform rules that suit them,” she added.
“This is also how you establish confidence between people.”
The two also explained how AI should support people and not replace them while explaining how AI could help fight false information.
“Fighting disinformation, improving knowledge equity and developing digital inclusion in more than 300 languages,” were the subjects of discussion.
The two also highlighted “the sustainable reuse of content thanks to technical partnerships and data sets have never been so important in the AI era.”
