Princess Kate makes a sweet gesture for fans waiting outside Westminster Abbey

Kate Middleton beamed as she met all the guests who arrived at Westminster Abbey for its fifth Christmas carol service on Friday.

The Princess of Wales was seen chatting and laughing delightfully individually with those attending the event, but she didn’t forget the crowds waiting outside the venue.

There were 1,600 people in attendance as well as members of the royal family, so it wasn’t humanly possible for Kate to address every single person.

Therefore, Kensington Palace shared an update after the festive event to thank fans who were waiting for a sneak peek.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us at Westminster Abbey this evening, who do so much to foster love and connection in their communities and beyond,” a message was shared on social media alongside the photos highlighting the outdoor scenes.

The Princess of Wales was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The family had a matching theme: dark blue and forest green.

Duchess Sophie, Zara and her husband Mike Tindall were there to support Kate. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester arrived with their grandchildren and Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, was also in attendance.

In addition to the royal, Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, arrived together followed by James Middleton and his wife, Alizée Thevenet. Meanwhile, Pippa had disappeared. It’s unclear why Kate’s sister didn’t attend the event.
