Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis may have broken her inside and shaken the palate, but it revealed the biggest truth about her marriage.
Royal experts believe Princess Catherine’s cancer permanently changed Prince William’s mind and their relationship.
The horrific diagnosis brought the future monarch closer to his wife. William even became Kate’s life-saving pill amid her health problems and family challenges.
The mother left the world in shock when she announced her cancer in March 2024, revealing that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
The 43-year-old’s heartbreaking update brought hundreds of fans and friends to tears. It also seemed like a bombshell for William, who never left his partner until they beat the illness.
In September 2024, Kate revealed that she was cancer free, confirming in January 2025 that her cancer was in remission.
Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner noted that the couple had previously endured tabloid speculation about alleged marital difficulties. However, he told Fox News Digital that Kate and William’s relationship appears to be stronger than ever during this difficult time for the family.
“There were rumors at one point that the marriage between William and Kate might not have been as happy as it was publicly portrayed,” Turner said.
Turner pointed out that Kate’s illness may have reminded William how central she is to his life and revitalized the emotional connection between the two men, who have been together for more than two decades.
“William is known for his outbursts and Kate found ways to calm the situation, but personally I feel that after the cancer diagnosis and the threat of losing her, the closeness was rekindled,” Turner said.
“And that’s why decisions were made, such as their quieter accommodation rather than a palace to try to lead a normal family life became their goal,” he added.
Some royal insiders and palace aides also agreed that the two seemed more emotionally connected than before.
