Islamabad:
The Punjab government of PML-N has initiated a private private prosecutor to represent the prosecution before the Supreme Court in all cases linked to the incidents of May 9, 2023.
“Mr. Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi, the Supreme Court of the defenders, is appointed by this public prosecutor under article 18 of the 1997 anti -terrorism law to represent the State in all cases linked to 09 May 2023 incidents before the Supreme Court,” said a notification published by the Punjab on Saturday.
The notification indicated that professional fees of 200,000 rupees per petition / case will be paid to the logical conclusion of each petition / case to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Naqvi was also one of the prosecutors of the Cypher in which the founder of PTI, Imran Khan and the vice-president Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was acquitted by the High Court of Islamabad.
A scope of SC of three members led by the chief judge of Pakistan Yahya Afridi will resume the petitions of the Punjab government today (Monday) to cancel the cancellation of the deposit granted to the incidents of May 9 accused. The other members of the bench are the Musarrat Hilali judge and judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
Earlier, the additional prosecutor of Punjab argued these cases in front of the bench.
The accusation considers that the High Court granted the deposit to the accused without examining important elements. There is very limited chances of cancellation of the banns. However, the prosecution expects business to be returned to the high court for re -examining all the equipment.
The PTI has already approached the Supreme Court for the constitution of a judicial commission to investigate May 9. The former PTI chief, Fawad Chaudhry, who is himself a lawyer for the Supreme Court, said that he was involved in up to 32 cases following May 9 Chaos.
“Neither the accusation sheet nor the Challan report gives a clear explanation of the specific accusations against me. I was arrested in Islamabad and in these cases named in these cases later, after being released on bail in other frivolous cases,” he said.
According to Charthry, even the evidence against the former Prime Minister Imran Khan are absurd.
“Police affirms that three of their agents have hidden in the living room of Lahore of Imran Khan and have heard a conspiracy to attack sensitive buildings [in the event of his arrest].
“However, they fail to explain why they neither informed of their superior officers nor taken any preventive measure if they were aware of this presumed conspiracy three days in advance. The story and the whole evidence are flagrant lies, with inconsistencies that have obviously apparent the file,” he added.
Fawad Chaudhry also wondered why the Supreme Court prioritizes the penalty of the hearing surety on more substantial issues, including his own petition, in which he had urged the court to enforce his previous decision according to which a single case can be filed by incident.
