Private medical medical fees capped at RS1.8 m

Islamabad:

On Thursday, the government rationalized the fees billed by private medicine colleges for the diplomas of MBBS and BDS, and capped them at RS1.8 million per year, with a view to bringing medical training within the reach of ordinary humans.

The decision to reduce fees was taken by the Medical Education Committee, which was established on the Prime Minister’s instructions.

Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the 5th Committee meeting to discuss the regulations and rationalization of costs in private medicine colleges.

After an in -depth consultation, the Committee reached consensus to recommend a school fee ceiling of RS1.8 million.
