Probe in progress after the Barkhan massacre

The security forces launched an in-depth investigation to trace and apprehend the armed men, who set an ambush to a bus traveling on the Barkhan-dera Ghazi Khan motorway in Balutchistan on Tuesday evening and killed seven people.

According to local authorities, the attackers, estimated at a 40 armed men, arrested several vehicles near Rakhani in the Barkhan district. After checking the IDs of the passengers, they forcibly removed seven individuals from one of the coaches and killed them, they added.

Barkhan’s deputy commissioner, Waqar Khurshid Alam, confirmed that all the victims were from Punjab and were on the way to Lahore when the attack occurred. After the incident, the authorities tightened security in the affected area to prevent any recurrence of these violent acts.

Meanwhile, the security forces launched an in -depth investigation to retrace and apprehend the authors, while the chief minister of Balutchistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, ordered a large -scale investigation into the incident. He condemned the attack in the strongest terms, calling it as a “loose act of terrorism”.
