PTCL reaches a milestone because the Africa-1 cable system is now lived in Pakistan

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has successfully connected Pakistan to the Africa-1 submarine cable system, marking significant progression in the country’s digital infrastructure.

This high -capacity cable system, capable of transmitting large amounts of data, has been linked to the exchange of PTCL in Karachi, guaranteeing faster and more reliable international connectivity.

The Africa-1 cable system extends over 10,000 kilometers and incorporates the latest digital technologies. He will connect Pakistan to strategically important places, notably Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, France, Kenya and Djibouti.

Syed Muhammad Shoaib, Vice-President of the PTCL Group for International Affairs, stressed that this initiative aligns with the “Digital Vision 2030” of Pakistan.

He said: “We are committed to filling the digital divide, promoting innovation in various sectors and strengthening the country’s economy. The Africa-1 cable system will play a central role in improving Internet speed , reliability and global connectivity. “

The Africa-1 cable system is expected to become operational at the beginning of 2026, providing world class internet services to businesses and consumers in Pakistan.
