- Gohar says that economic and political stability is interconnected.
- Alleys that PTI’s mandate stolen under the cover of darkness.
- Links political stability to the independence of the judiciary.
Stressing the need to meet the economic challenges encountered by the country, Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said on Saturday that Pakistan’s economic stability is linked to political stability.
The president of the PTI made these comments while addressing the party fair in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Swabi. The former ruling party observes today a “Balck Day” against the alleged rigging in the general elections last year. PTI said that their mandate was stolen from the elections on the same day last year, while the leader coalition denies these allegations.
A number of PTI managers and workers have been arrested in Multan, Muzaffarabad and other cities while the Imran Khan party organized nationwide gatherings on the first anniversary of the controversial elections of the year last.
Addressing Swabi Jalla, lawyer Gohar reiterated his party’s complaint by saying: “We had won punjab elections. Our mandate was stolen in the darkness of the night [during the polls]. “”
Speaking on occasion, the president of the PTI underlined the need for the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. He said: “There will be political stability if the judiciary is independent.”
Going to talks in a standstill between the PTI and the ruling coalition, he said that the former ruling party had entered the negotiation process in the light of the former Prime Minister imprisoned Imran Khan.
“Imran Khan has ordered to initiate talks for the country,” he added.
The PTI fell from the dialogue process last month, because the government did not accept its key requests to set up judicial commissions to investigate the incidents of May 9, 2023 and the repression of the police of November 26, 2024 against Its workers in Islamabad.
For his part, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, warned that if his party decided to take revenge, the coalition in power “will not be able to bear it”. He said Pakistan would suffer if hatred increased.
Addressing the rally, CM Gandapur said that his party wanted the rule of law and the supremacy of the constitution in the country.
The president of the PTI KP section, Junaid Akbar, revealed that the imprisoned founder of PTI will soon give another appeal to protest. He said that the PTI workers, through the massive public rally, transmitted a message that they were not tired of the demonstrations.
Speaking of the next PTI demonstration, he said: “We are going to go to the streets with preparations to cope with bullets.”
However, he said that they did not want to confront with the institutions.
