PTI legislators have awarded a prison sentence in more cases

The anti-terrorism court, which has acquitted Shah Mehmood Qureshi of PTI of PTI, has granted 10 years to the imprisonment of PTI legislators, including former Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz CH, Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed, in two different cases registered against them in response to riots of May 9.

The ATC judge also awarded 5 years’ imprisonment to Alia Hamza de PTI and the social activist of PTI, Sanam Javed.

Earlier, the ATC court reserved decisions after hearing in detail the arguments on both sides of Kot Lakhpat prison in two cases, “the attack on the Shadman police station and the combustion of police vehicles near Jinnah’s house, in Kot Lakhpat prison.

The lawyer for the accused party argued that no concrete evidence is available to establish a bond of the accused with the charges accumulated in the FIR.

They argued that cases with political motivation had been recorded against the accused simply to humiliate and make them sing, adding that they were involved in forged cases.

The proceedings implored the court that there are substantial and convincing evidence against the accused, which shows that he prompted the public to commit the offense.

He added that the accused are fully involved in the offense they committed on May 9 in the light to damage the state’s properties, to set firing van, of public order, Anarchy Chaos.

However, the ATC court announced a verdict and imprisoned PTI legislators.

By talking to L’Express PK Press Club, one of PTI’s advice, Rana Mudassar Umar, said that trials of fire vehicles outside Rahat Bakery and a criminal fire near the Shadman police station had been completed.

He said a total of 25 accused had been appointed to the Rahat Bakery case, while seven defendants were declared to the run.

He added that the trial of 12 accused had been completed in the criminal fire case of the Shadman police station, and that five accused were in detention in this case, while an accused died.
