Peshawar:
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the arrest of the founding president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), party workers organized a demonstration in front of the Peshawar Press Club on Sunday.
The demonstration was assisted by Mna Shandana Gulzar, former vice-president of Mahmood Jan, Sheer Ali Arbab, Irfan Saleem, Faisal Javed, Pare Ali Afridi, Asif Khan, Kamran Bangash, Sami Khan, Ali Zaman and Fazal Ilahi, who addressed the participants.
In their speeches, the speakers condemned the arrest of the founding president, declaring that he had been detained without crime or accusation. They pointed out that, although the courts have given a deposit, baseless affairs are still being deposited.
They also stressed that, in order to put pressure on the founding president, his wife, Bushra Bibi, was also arrested.
The speakers stressed that, even if the founding president and his wife are faced with unfair legal battles, they are also refused the right to meet him.
Despite the judicial orders, the authorities continue to obstruct the visits to the detained chief.
The director general of the province, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was also prohibited to meet the founding president.
The speakers have criticized the current government efforts to reduce the popularity of the founder of the PTI, stressing that he remains one of the most popular leaders in the country today.
They also noted that if the founding president had been outside, he would have become a powerful voice against Indian assault.
They congratulated the Pakistani army for its strong response to the hostility of India, declaring that India’s false idea on the attack on Pakistan was decisively crushed.
In support of the fatherland, the demonstrators expressed their solidarity with the country’s armed forces.
