Peshawar:
On the call of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, a major demonstration took place outside the electoral commission of the Pakistan Bureau (ECP) in Peshawar.
Organized by PTI, the demonstration attracted a large crowd, including party workers and members of the provincial assembly. In anticipation of the demonstration, the authorities completed the ECP office with barbed wire and deployed a heavy police quota to maintain order.
Song of slogans in support of Imran Khan, supporters of the PTI demanded the immediate release of the founder of their party and other detained members.
Addressing the demonstrators, the president of PTI Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar, special assistant of the population of the population of KP, Malik Liaqat Ali Khan, Mna Atif Khan and other party leaders alleged that national institutions will pay the public mandate.
“The power and the privileges of institutions exist because of the people; Therefore, they must respect the public vote, ”said the speakers.
Junaid Akbar said PTI workers were ready to mobilize at Adiala prison or D-CHOWK whenever Imran Khan calls.
He accused institutions of eliminating political space for the PTI and unjustly labeling his peaceful workers as terrorists.
“We are here today to shame the shoulder,” he said, marking ECP as the “corruption commission” and a “defective guard”.
Condiating PTI targeting in the foreign financing case, the leaders asked why the financial control of other political parties remained unanswered.
They said peaceful demonstrations were taking place nationally to recover what they described as a “stolen mandate”.
The speakers denounced the imprisonment of Imran Khan as unfair and demanded his immediate release, calling him the hope of the nation and a symbol of democratic struggle.
They have sworn that the struggle for democracy, constitutional supremacy and the rule of law would continue.
They called for legal action against the return agents who were reportedly involved in the general rigging during the general elections.
“PTI candidates won by a clear majority, but ECP, collusion with others, manipulated the results to ensure their defeat,” they said, accusing the return officers of conspiracy to deliberately modify the results. “Such a blatant rig would even be ashamed of a dictator,” they said.
Criticizing the role of the ECP, they accused him of announcing pre-written verdicts and of lacking respect for the vote of the people.
“Those who once demanded respect for the voting now glorify the boot,” they said. The speakers argued that if electronic voting machines (EVM) had been used, the rig was exposed in an hour.
They also allegedly alleged that ECP, PML-N and other institutions were working together to strip the PTI of its legitimate seats.
“Despite the reception of the public vote, the PTI candidates were sidelined due to poor planning and an open rigging. The seats were allocated to candidates from other parties,” they said.
