The police arrested activist Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Sanam Javed and her husband, Professor Atiq, near Kot Lakhpat prison in Lahore, according to Express News.
The couple was apprehended by a strong police presence, with several vehicles involved in their detention. They were taken to an unhappy location for subsequent treatment.
The arrest took place after the court hearing concerning the affairs of May 9, in which Sanam Javed had participated.
Sanam Javed had already been involved in political disorders surrounding the May 9 incidents, which led to a series of legal proceedings against several party members.
The authorities have not disclosed the exact accusations against the couple at the moment.
