PTI senators ask VP to resign

ISLAMABAD:

Thursday’s Senate session was marked by chaos and strong protests by PTI lawmakers who demanded the resignation of Deputy Speaker Syedaal Khan Nasar, disrupting proceedings and preventing the completion of the day’s agenda.

The session, chaired by the Vice President, began with the fate of soldiers martyred during an operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists in Orakzai.

However, tensions erupted shortly after PTI senator Humayun Khan Mohmand spoke out, saying he had “no confidence” in the president. “As interim president, you have lost our trust. You should resign,” Mohmand demanded.

Following his remarks, PTI senators started chanting slogans, including “Syedal Nasir resign!” and “Come on Syedal Nasir, come on!” They banged on the desks and surrounded the chair in protest.

PPP senators were absent, continuing their boycott in protest against recent remarks made by the Punjab CM against their party.
